About The Department:

With over 10 years of experience in design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and utilization of wind turbines and wind technology, this department has been able to reach and attain the core technology of permeant magnet generators and steadily proceed in this direction.

As one of the main principles, this department strives for domestic cultivation of technology. Therefore, the adopted approach has not been merely assembling products of other companies. Instead, we aim to tread confidently in the path of design and developing prototypes. As of now, this department has extended its capabilities to delivering medium-capacity turbines with manufacturing and installing products of 1, 3, 100, and 250 kW.

Design of Wind Turbines

Design of wind turbines is considered the heart of wind technology. All other capacities of the institute are in one way or another rooted in this central capability. The design procedure performed at this department encompasses all parts of the turbine including blades, drive train, power electronic components, monitoring and control systems, structures including tower and foundation, and all other various ancillary systems and mechanisms. Designing each of these constituent parts for delivering a complete wind turbine is well within the capabilities of Sun-Air Research Institute as the technical skills and knowledge has been developed and flourished systematically by each design subdivision over the years.

Manufacturing Wind Turbines

Manufacturing an engineering product is the continuation of the design process and inseparable from it, and the design cycle only ends with the physical completion of the product. Upholding this philosophy, Sun-Air Research Institute has attempted to construct wind turbines in various capacities, and in this endeavor not only has excelled in supplying the infra structures and necessary equipment, but also has embarked on the mission of training skillful and expert personnel.

It is noteworthy that the entire manufacturing process of turbine blades as a key component of the wind turbine system is completely carried out within this institute.

Installation of Wind Turbines

Heavy equipment installation is considered as a main engineering expertise that requires special calculations and evaluations. Sun-Air Research Institute has an outstanding track record in this respect and in addition to self-reliance in erection and installation of wind turbines, has also participated in installation projects for other companies such as XEMC and Nordex turbines in Binaloud and Khaaf sites.
